Hamas-Linked Cyberattacks Using Rust-Powered SysJoker Backdoor Against Israel

Cybersecurity researchers have discovered a new version of cross-platform backdoor SysJoker, which may be used by a Hamas-related threat to target Israel. The malware code has been completely rewritten in Rust language and now uses OneDrive instead of Google Drive to store command-and-control URLs. The discovered SysJoker is thought to be linked to Operation Electric Powder, a 2016-17 campaign against Israeli organizations tied to the Molerats group.
