Hardware-Based Cybersecurity For Software-Defined Vehicles

Software-defined vehicles (SDVs), whose functionalities are largely controlled by advanced software stacks, have increasingly complex in-vehicle electrical and electronic systems that present a host of safety and security issues. As these vehicles are amongst a larger ecosystem of connected devices, a breach in the vehicle’s system endangers this entire network. The Secure-CAV Consortium aims to address the dynamic cybersecurity threat landscape by developing adaptable security technology. In addition to its layered security approach, the consortium has developed a functional architecture for real environment trials of automotive cybersecurity solutions.
