October marks cybersecurity awareness month. Indonesia, with a low cybersecurity awareness level, scored 38.96 out of 100 points in the 2022 National Cyber Security Index, ranking third-lowest among the Group of Twenty countries. Malware attacks common in Indonesia include Trojans, viruses, and worms. The public is largely unaware that their smartphones or computers are infected. To combat this, people are urged to uninstall suspicious applications, change banking passwords and pins, monitor card usage, and perform factory resets.
