Health secretary did not attend police debrief on major NHS cyber attack

Scottish Health Secretary Neil Gray did not participate in a key briefing about a cyber attack that compromised over 100,000 patient records at NHS Dumfries and Galloway. Gray has faced criticism for leaving the meeting before Police Scotland’s update on the situation and risk mitigation measures for patients and staff. A ransomware group leaked a large volume of data from the health board last month after payment demands were not met.
