Healthcare data breaches still higher than pre-pandemic levels

Healthcare data breaches have declined in the second half of 2022, continuing a two-year trend, says a report by Critical Insight. However, the breaches have affected more individuals and hackers are increasingly targeting weaker links like EHR systems. Despite a 9% drop in total breaches, individual records exposed by these breaches surged 35%. Healthcare organizations need to remain vigilant and improve detection and incident response to protect patient data.
