Healthcare executives lack action plan to combat cybersecurity threats

Coordinated action to combat security threats in healthcare organizations is lacking, according to a survey of 60 C-suite healthcare executives. Medical device security was identified as one of the top five risks, but most respondents did not have an effective strategy in place to assess these risks. Lack of resources was cited as the biggest barrier to meeting privacy and security challenges. The survey also identified concerns about IoT, third-party vendors, and program development and management. The report recommends increasing endpoint visibility, protecting against emerging attacks, and backing up data.
