Healthcare Industry gets ‘B+’ on Cybersecurity for 2024

Despite strong security measures, the US healthcare sector remains vulnerable to supply chain cyberspace risks, according to SecurityScorecard’s recent study. The sector scored an average security rating of “B+” in the first half of 2024, making them 2.9 times more likely to suffer data breaches compared to competitors scoring an “A”. The report also revealed that ransomware groups often target the supplier ecosystem, particularly medical device and equipment companies. Only 5% of healthcare firms reported these breaches publicly.
