Healthcare leads in third-party data breaches, says new report

The healthcare sector received a B+ security rating for H1 2024, according to a study by SecurityScorecard. However, the sector faces significant supply chain risk due to weaknesses in application and endpoint security. The study examined the 500 largest US healthcare companies and found 9% had experienced a breach or compromised machinery. The report also discussed ransomware risks and the threat of patient data misuse. Last year, 55% of healthcare organisations experienced a third-party breach.
