Healthcare software and firmware risks up 59%, says H-ISAC

The 2023 State of Cybersecurity for Medical Devices and Healthcare Systems report highlights that vulnerabilities putting medical devices and healthcare applications at risk have increased, with 993 identified this year compared to 624 in 2022. The report urges regular penetration testing, patching risks, binary analysis for firmware products, and implementing security by design. Additionally, the report found that software applications account for 64% of vulnerabilities, followed by hardware at 27% and operating systems at 9%.
