The company noticed unusual behaviour on a partner’s device and found it had been hacked to gain unauthorized access to HealthEquity’s systems. The hacker took sensitive health data from the firm, which specialises in healthcare savings accounts, as well as other benefits like flexible spending accounts. The firm has begun notifying affected individuals but has not disclosed full details of the breach.
