Hellhounds: operation Lahat

In 2023, Positive Technologies Computer Security Incident Response Team uncovered a cyberattack against a power company by the Decoy Dog trojan, which targets Russian organisations. New versions of the trojan have been modified to be more difficult to detect. Data is transferred using an encryption algorithm, masking its transmission even if intercepted. The cybergang Hellhounds has used Decoy Dog malware in extensive attacks, including disrupting telecom operator services.
