The Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center (HC3) issued a threat briefing on the LockBit ransomware group. LockBit, responsible for the Accenture attack, has released a new variant that uses a double extortion technique. The group has restarted its affiliate program, targeting hospitals. The HC3 notes that cybercriminals often rely on open-source tools and that threat briefings have not slowed down the rise of ransomware attacks.
