HHS cybersecurity leader describes the active threats on agency’s radar
Greg Singleton, director of the Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, explained at a conference how the government can help the private sector manage cyber risks. Singleton emphasized the importance of information sharing and trust building in the healthcare sector, which accounts for 18% of US GDP. He also highlighted current threats, including vulnerabilities in virtual private network services, Windows Services, real-time operating systems, and PACS and DICOM imaging servers. He urged healthcare organizations to engage with government entities to strengthen cybersecurity.
