HHS urges patient education on privacy basics

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Civil Rights has made two new patient privacy resources available. These resources aim to educate patients on protecting their health information when using telemedicine technologies. The resources offer various tips and recommendations for maintaining privacy during virtual medical appointments, such as turning off surrounding electronic devices, using personal computers, and avoiding public Wi-Fi networks.
