HIE accreditation coming for Texas

The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) and the Texas Health Services Authority (THSA) have partnered to develop an accreditation program for health information exchanges (HIEs) in Texas. The program will certify HIEs that meet accepted standards for the handling of protected health information. The program will align with guidance from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, and will ensure that accredited HIEs are interoperable with state and federal programs and comply with established laws and public policy.
