Highmark works with Epic and Google to boost payer-provider data exchange

Health insurance provider Highmark Health is collaborating with healthcare software company Epic to host the tech firm’s Payer Platform on Google Cloud. The partnership aims to allow easier cross-collaboration and insight sharing between medical payers and providers, thus facilitating faster decision making and better care. The cloud-based system could optimise treatment plans, minimise out-of-pocket costs for patients and expedite authorisations. Highmark predicts generated savings of around $2.7m annually.
