HIMSSCast: How care collaboration impacts patients and providers

The ER Optimization tool, a result of a partnership between Sutter Health and PointClickCare, allows ER doctors to access a patient’s entire ER visit history, improving their understanding of a patient and reducing readmissions from 3.4 to 1.9 days. This has allowed for better patient outcomes and financial savings. It has been adopted by 70%-80% of large hospitals in the Bay Area.
