Hira ‘paused’ following budget recall

New Zealand’s Hira project, which aims to build a national health information platform, is put on hold due to budget cuts in the digital health sector. The initiative, part of Te Whatu Ora’s 10-year infrastructure investment plan, has been paused after its first stage, amidst the government’s recall of NZ$300m for digital health initiatives over the next four years.
