Homeowner to tear down extension after council use Google Earth to spot mistake

A Dorset homeowner may have to demolish an extension and decking after the local council consulted Google Maps and Street View to prove the features were added without permission. Colin Thomas claimed the additions were over four years old, exempting them from council action. But satellite photos showed the extension was built between September 2020 and June 2022, making it liable to enforcement action.
