Hospital cyber-attack hampers GP blood services

A cyber attack on Synnovis, an agency managing labs for NHS trusts and GPs in south-east London, has disrupted pathology services, leading to thousands of cancelled operations and appointments. The agency, a victim of a hack earlier this month, is only processing urgent and critical cases. Despite this, many doctors continue their strike over a pay dispute with the government, although some junior doctors have returned due to safety concerns. The recovery to normal services could take several weeks.
