Hospitals still don’t have a handle on their IoT devices

A report by Cynerio and The Ponemon Institute highlights the vulnerability of connected devices in healthcare, with repeated attacks, financial losses, and a lack of basic cybersecurity measures. The survey found that healthcare IoT devices are often unprotected, with 71% of respondents rating the security risks as high, but only 21% having mature security measures in place. The report also revealed that 47% of hospitals experiencing an attack paid a ransom, with some ranging from $250,000 to $500,000. This highlights the need for improved cybersecurity measures in healthcare settings.
