How NHS organisations can protect themselves against cyber crime

NHS Digital’s Data Security Centre has provided a series of steps that UK NHS organisations must take to protect against cyber crime. Leadership and investment in people are central to the list of immediate steps, specifically workforce-wide understanding of data security. Protection against ransomware includes keeping operating systems, antivirus systems and security products up to date, using non-administrative accounts for day-to-day activities requiring internet use, and critical data being regularly backed up.
