How to effectively wield emerging tech

The panel “The Double-Edged Sword of Emerging Technology” discussed the role of emerging health tech. Participants discussed pros of technology like increased diagnostic speed and note automation, but highlighted challenges like scalability, cost, data volume, and decision-making around whether to create or buy AI technology. A lack of international AI regulation was discussed as problematic. Techniques for successful implementation emphasised considering end-user case, data privacy, fundamental IT infrastructure, stakeholder education, and future sustainability.
