HTI-2 proposed rule includes new certification criteria for payer and public health IT
The US Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has released its proposed HTI-2 rule for public comment, aimed at fostering nationwide information sharing among patients, providers, and public health authorities via new criteria under the ONC Health IT Certification Program. Focusing on interoperability between providers, payers, and public health agencies, it promotes the use of APIs for data exchange and includes measures to further privacy rules, amongst others.
