Hundreds of cancer patients hit by NHS cyberattack as thousands of appointments cancelled

A severe cyberattack on Synnovis, a supplier of pathology services to NHS hospitals in London, has forced the cancellation of more than 200 emergency and life-saving operations. The ransomware attack, which is believed to have been carried out by Russian group Qilin, has severely disrupted services, including blood tests and transplant operations. It’s feared some services could take months to recover, with blood transfusions already affected by a national shortage of O-positive and O-negative blood.
