Hundreds of operations and appointments cancelled in week after NHS cyber attack

A cyber attack on pathology services provider Synnovis has led to hundreds of operations and outpatient appointments being rearranged at two London NHS trusts. The ransomware attack, believed to be by Russian group Qilin on 3 June, severely reduced Synnovis’s ability to process and report blood tests. The two most impacted trusts were King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
