Hundreds of operations and appointments cancelled in week after NHS cyber attack
A ransomware cyber attack on pathology services provider Synnovis, allegedly by Russian group Qilin in early June, severely disrupted hospital systems, causing hundreds of operations and appointments to be rearranged at two London NHS trusts. Ongoing disruption is anticipated, prompting an appeal for blood donations to maintain service levels. Most affected were King’s College and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS trusts, responsible for several hospitals and GP services in south-east London.
