Hundreds of operations and appointments cancelled in week after NHS cyber attack
A cyber attack on Synnovis, a pathology services provider, caused disruptions at two London NHS trusts, leading to the rearrangement of hundreds of planned operations and outpatient appointments. Disruptions are expected to continue for some time. The attack, carried out by Russian group Qilin, greatly reduced Synnovis’ ability to process and report blood tests. In response, an urgent national blood drive was launched, requesting type O blood donors.
