Hundreds of operations and appointments cancelled in week after NHS cyber attack
A cyber attack on Synnovis, reportedly by Russian group Qilin, forced hundreds of operations and outpatient appointments to be rearranged in London. The ransomware attack severely impacted the company’s ability to process and report blood tests, notably at King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’, and GP services. Officials warn the disruption is likely to continue for some time. An “urgent” national blood drive has been launched for people with type O blood.
