Hundreds of operations and appointments cancelled in week after NHS cyber attack
A Russian ransomware attack by group Qilin on Synnovis, a pathology services provider, has created major disruption to UK’s NHS, with hundreds of operations and outpatient appointments postponed. With the attack severely reducing Synnovis’ ability to process and report blood tests, King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’, and other trusts have been significantly affected. Despite recovery efforts, key officials have stated that disruptions can be expected to continue.
