‘Hunters International’ Cyberattackers Take Over Hive Ransomware

The ransomware code from malware group Hive, which was disrupted by the FBI, has remains a threat. It has been found to overlap significantly with the code of new threat group Hunters International. This suggests Hive operators may have transferred their code to Hunters, who unlike Hive are focusing primarily on extortion, rather than data encryption. Cybersecurity company Bitdefender warns Hunters is becoming a formidable threat as it demonstrates its competence and attracts high-caliber affiliates.
