Improving rural access to radiology services

Overcoming workforce shortages and improving access to radiology services in rural areas can be achieved through business acumen and cultural knowledge, according to speakers at the Radiological Society of North America. Difficulty retaining radiologists, hospital closures and physician shortage were cited as challenges. Private equity support and the use of telemedicine are proposed as potential solutions.
