In a boost for patient matching, ONC releases technical specs for Project US@

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT has released Project US@ Technical Specification Final Version 1.0, a unified approach for representing addresses in healthcare records. The aim is to improve patient matching and interoperability. The specification was developed with input from 150 project participants and is now available for implementation by healthcare stakeholders. The American Health Information Management Association has also released a companion guide to support adoption and deployment.
