In Argentina, cyber-attack attempts are growing: more than a billion in 2023

A Fortinet report indicates that over 1.2 billion cyberattack attempts were recorded in Argentina during H1 2023, similar to other parts of Latin America and the Caribbean with a total of 63,000 million attempts. Ransomware attack activity has significantly increased. Personal data security is a key concern, particularly following an attack from cybercriminals releasing data from PAMI affiliates. The report also highlights concerns about data-wiping malware and botnets used in Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
