Incorrect use of email ‘BCC’ could result in fines for businesses

Schools, the NHS and other organisations have been warned by the UK’s privacy watchdog that they risk fines for erroneous usage of “blind carbon copy” (BCC) in emails. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) highlighted misuse of BCC as leading to a series of data breaches. Schools and universities, followed by health services and local government, are cited as the worst email offenders.
