Increase in ransomware attacks to healthcare’s vulnerable remote acces

Ransomware groups are increasingly attacking healthcare systems’ remote access points, potentially causing devastating consequences for patient care. In response, the ECRI has issued advice to healthcare leaders, including securing and updating internet-facing systems, auditing logs and traffic, developing ransomware contingency plans, identifying law enforcement and vendor contacts, maintaining backup and recovery methods, and consulting legal counsel in the event of a breach.
