India’s growing focus on AI for precision medicine

The Apollo Cancer Centre (ACC) in India has opened a Precision Oncology Centre powered by AI, which identifies patients for specific therapies and alerts care teams to patient deterioration. ACC also uses AI to educate patients and monitor treatment adherence. Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Science recently launched a lab in partnership with Siemens Healthineers to develop AI tools to diagnose neurological diseases. The tools are set to be integrated into clinical workflows, and will be open-sourced for the benefit of the research community.
