Indonesian ministry apologises for cyber attack amid calls for resignation
Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Informatics is under fire after hackers hit the country’s National Data Center on June 20 and demanded a $8m ransom. Despite several apologies, the ministry is under pressure to restore services and protect personal data. Many agencies’ data was not backed up and a large amount, including details of 800,000 prospective students, may have been lost forever.
