Information blocking rules: Health industry groups call for Congressional oversight

Healthcare trade groups have written to US Senators Lamar Alexander and Patty Murray to call for the forthcoming regulations on data exchange and information blocking to be implemented in line with the goals of the 21st Century Cures Act. The groups highlighted concerns about patient privacy and security, clinician burnout, and the potential for increased provider burden. They made requests for more industry review, enhanced privacy and security protections, realistic implementation timelines, and revised enforcement rules.
