Infosec experts applaud DOJ lawsuit against Georgia Tech
The US Department of Justice (DOJ) is suing Georgia Institute of Technology for allegedly lying about its cybersecurity standards to maintain Department of Defense contracts. The DOJ joined a whistleblower lawsuit filed by members of Georgia Tech’s cybersecurity team alleging false cybersecurity risk assessment scores, insufficient security plans and non-compliance with anti-virus requirements. Defendants include the Georgia Tech Research Corporation, a Georgia Tech affiliate dealing with classified government work. A professor has also been accused of aiding security shortcomings.
