Insecure: How A Private Military Contractor’s Hiring Files Leaked

siteadmin August 27, 2020

Thousands of applications to private security firm TigerSwan, many from “Top Secret” US military veterans, were exposed throughout July and August 2017, according to the UpGuard Cyber Risk Team. TigerSwan was notified of the exposure in late July, but it was not secured until the end of August. The personal details exposed often included job seekers’ home addresses, work and military histories, email addresses, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers and partial social security numbers. TigerSwan has blamed the unsecured information on a former recruiting firm which it severed ties with in February 2017.
