Matching patients to clinical trials is a difficult and time-consuming process, and privacy regulations further complicate the issue. ConsenSys Health, a blockchain and machine learning company, is proposing a federated approach using blockchain, decentralized AI, and privacy-preserving software and hardware. They are working with Intel to use their next-generation hardware for confidential computing, enabling faster and more cost-effective trials while maintaining patient privacy. This approach has the potential to improve clinical trial matching and advance new treatments. The adoption of decentralized technologies is becoming a trend in clinical trials.
