Investigating risks of postpartum hemorrhage treatment on future pregnancies

A study from Korea University College of Medicine finds that women undergoing Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) for postpartum hemorrhage in their first delivery face higher risks of complications in subsequent pregnancies. These complications include placental issues, premature births, and severe bleeding. Research suggests that babies born to these women are more likely to have birth defects and may slightly have a higher chance of ADHD. However, this connection requires further investigation. Despite the risks, the study’s goal is to improve care strategies for women with a history of UAE.
