Investigation into cyber attack ‘could take weeks’, says NHS England

A website and helpline have been created for patients affected by a ransomware attack on NHS provider Synnovis. The attack, carried out by Russian group Qilin, has caused hundreds of operations and appointments to be cancelled. Investigations into the cyber attack could take weeks due to the complexity of the data, some of which has been published online. Synnovis is working to restore its IT systems and to determine which patient samples are affected.
