Investigation into cyber attack ‘could take weeks’, says NHS England

UK’s NHS trusts were subjected to a cyberattack by Russian group Qilin on June 3. Hundreds of outpatient appointments and operations have been cancelled causing distress among patients. Health care provider Synnovis, primarily serving southeast London, is investigating the attack, and necessary restoration measures may span weeks. The hackers have claimed ownership of the data which includes patient details, test results, and pertinent financial information. A helpline and website are active for the patients in need.
