Investigation into cyber attack ‘could take weeks’, says NHS England
A malware attack on Synnovis, which provides pathology services to NHS trusts and GP clinics in South-East London, led to hundreds of operations and appointments being cancelled. A helpline and website have been established to offer advice and assistance to those affected. NHS England admitted some samples would have to be discarded due to the time passed since the attack. Synnovis is now focusing on system restoration, while the National Cyber Security Centre investigates the data breach.
