Professional services firm Aon predicts that in 2018, attacks on the healthcare Internet of Things (IoT) will increase, as cyber criminals target organisations embracing IoT technology. The report also suggests that multi-factor authentication will become more important as passwords and physical biometrics are increasingly compromised. Additionally, Aon states that insider attacks will continue to be a significant risk, as organisations underestimate their vulnerability. The report concludes that organisations will increasingly adopt standalone cyber insurance policies and that chief risk officers will play a more central role in managing cyber risk.
