Ipswich Hospital over 800 mixed-sex accommodation breaches

Ipswich Hospital, run by East Suffolk and North East Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT), recorded 865 cases of mixed-sex accommodation between January and April this year. Under NHS guidance, patients are not expected to share sleeping or toilet facilities with the opposite sex, unless it is in their best interest. Despite the guideline breaches, it was noted that patients are prioritised, and steps are taken to maintain dignity and provide separate facilities where possible.
