Iran-Linked Hackers Target World Defense Firms With New Malware

Microsoft has warned that Iranian cyber espionage group Peach Sandstorm is using a newly developed malware, FalseFont, to gather intelligence from defence industry companies globally. The group, also known as APT33, Elfin, and Refined Kitten, has primarily targeted America’s Defense Industrial Base. Microsoft believes Peach Sandstorm is working for the Iranian government, but has not attributed the hacking to a specific entity.
