Is Telegram safer than WhatsApp when it comes to Data Security

Online users are increasingly seeking messaging apps with end-to-end encryption such as WhatsApp and Signal. However, Telegram doesn’t offer such encryption by default. Regular chats on Telegram aren’t encrypted; only those started using the “Secret Chat” feature are. Without proper encryption, law enforcement can monitor conversations and potentially take legal action. Non-encrypted chats are stored on Telegram’s servers, whereas “Secret Chats” are stored only on the user’s device.
